Professional Seam Ripper Helper.

Are you ripping, ripping and ripping and having bits and pieces of thread all over?  Just take strips of painters tape, scotch tape, etc. and press on those threads and pull away.

Labeling your work.

Be sure to include your maiden name in your label, along with city, state and date.

Batting Uses

Use batting pieces to pick up/dust those work areas - cheaper than those swiffer refills.

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

Remember to take photos of your projects and keep a journal.

Display Wall

Use flannel-backed table cloth on wall to display your quilting pieces.  Use painter's tape to adhere to wall and when not needed, take down without any damage to wall.

- Suction Handles
Recently I was in a TJMaxx in Chespeake and saw the exact same suction handles as sold in fabric stores - the large one sold for $6.99 and it is called a "Suction Handle" for showers. Identical!  So for those that want one - look in the bath accessories dept. of stores!

Holding those threads on the bobbins:  Use a small ponytail holder.  It'll keep those bubbins from unwinding.

Stretched out 1/2 square cut on bias blocks when you ironed them?  Before doing them all over again, try putting those blocks in a bowl of water and put in microwave for five minutes to boil - pop in dryer.  They may just fall back into place for you.  It worked for me!  Mary

Help for warped cutting mats.

I had 4 cutting mats and all of them were all warped to some degree. My husband tried to fix them by putting them in the clothes dryer to get them hot and then by putting heavy books on them. This method only worked once, so in my frustration, I searched the web. Go to http://www.generations-quiltpatterns.com/olfa-cutting-mat.html. Scroll down about two-thirds of the way down until you see a bold face type heading that says, "So I went to the expert . . ." Charlie Hanney owner of Olfa Deals lists 6 Steps to fix your warped cutting mat. I tried it and it worked! I fixed all my cutting mats and even fixed one for Connie Albertson. Connie's didn't come out perfect like mine did, but it was about 90% fixed.
